60% of the 2023 batch, Batch 24, of Springbank’s 12 Year Old Cask Strength was aged in Bourbon barrels and 40% in Sherry casks.
Notes on Tasting: This cask-strength whisky begins with a sweetness reminiscent of toffee apples, accompanied by hints of hazelnut, marzipan, and parma ham.
Taste: A creamy mouthfeel evocative of custard creams is complimented by aromas of morello cherries, anise, and mild peat smoke on the palate.
Finish: Notes of saline, oil, and salted caramel, together with a lingering peat smoke, are indicative of the coastal influence.
