Canadian Whiskey

Canadian whisky is often considered a cousin of Scotch whisky, with characteristics similar to many Scottish blends as well as similarities to their American neighbors’ bourbons. That said, Canadian whiskies certainly boast a distinguishable style all of their own.

Their character typically consists of well-pronounced toffee flavours, spicy cinnamon and caramelised notes of toast, while the whisky is generally light but full in flavour. Canadian whisky is made from corn and rye. In fact, you’ll often see them referred to as “rye whiskies.” They are aged in wooden barrels for a minimum of three years to ensure a bold character.
