Among these are The Macallan’s Fine Oak expressions, which are “triple cask matured.” These whiskies are matured in sherry-seasoned Spanish oak casks and then finished in sherry-seasoned American oak casks and bourbon-seasoned American oak casks. The result is an exceptionally smooth spirit. The Macallan 15 Year Old is a prime example, with a complex blend of chocolate and cinnamon notes.
