Fabulous!
Smooth, complex and diverse notes.
Enjoyed first tasting in Ayrshire Scotland.
Also enjoyed other brands but this was the best.
Essie –
Honeyed with a hint of heather. My favourite! Hard to find since COVID though.

A dram of extremely complexity and elegance. In my opinion it’s better than Springbank 10 and is truly special. Drinking this slowly as I don’t have a back up bottle yet.

Apple juice in colour, this has a nose not for the beginner, as you might expect from Springbank. The first thing that hits is a sharp citrus, lemon/lime and some sour apple. Underneath there’s a little vanilla and honey sweetness coming through, it’s reminiscent of pear drops, that mix of sweet and sour fruit.
A real mouth tingler this one, coats everywhere, sticking to your gums. Same tingle sensation from mouthwash, if you had a sip of this when you were sleepy it would wake you up with a smack. That mix of sweet, sour continues, the sharp pears and apples combining with a burnt bonfire toffee.
The finish is long and flavoursome, treacle toffee, peanuts and that signature Campbeltown salinity shows up.
A young malt, but bursting with flavours, but not for the beginner.

Initially tried the 15 yo and was hooked…then that ran out so tried the 10 yo expecting a lesser dram – I was wrong. Complex, sweet, oily (like old Strathisla) and worth every penny. Get it while you can at this price.

The most Christmassy scotch for the buck 😉 … Definitvely have a good hint of chared coal, oak, a bit of fruits (fruitcake flavors), vanila and honey… Dangerously well balanced, a specialy while doing your christmass tree
