Macallan Litha Single Malt Whisky
In 2023, Macallan Litha was released for the Chinese market. Litha means “light,” and it was the term given to the summer solstice by the Celts. An unrivaled whisky matured only in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. This rare Macallan Litha combines two worlds, Scotland and Spain, to create an outstanding single malt whisky.
The Macallan Litha is encased in a colorful presentation box, featuring an illustration by award-winning US-based Chinese illustrator Sija Hong. This artwork represents two worlds coming together: Scotland (depicted on the right-hand side in the blue pantones) and Spain (represented on the left-hand side in the red pantones).
Tasting Notes
Nose: butterscotch, vanilla, and chocolate with citrus and tropical fruits.
Taste: vanilla ice cream topped with a berry compote, toasted oak, warming wood spice, salted caramel, and pecans.
Finish: medium with fruits, vanilla, and oak.
