Hibiki 21 Year Old Japanese Whisky
The Suntory Hibiki 21 Year Old is amazingly balanced, gently unfolding notes of sandalwood, honeycomb, caramelized nuts, ripe bananas, and rich sherry spice. The Hibiki multi-year-old sits between the Hibiki 17-year-old and the Hibiki 30-year-old in Suntory’s Hibiki line. The goal when mixing the whisky is to discover harmony, or a delicate balance. This goal motivates the head blender to select the finest blend of whiskies from over 100 of Suntory’s exceptional distilleries.
Hibiki 21 has taken years to consummate, yet the outcome is a real world-class bottle. Hibiki 21-year-old was named the world’s best blended whisky at the 2013 World Whiskies Awards and was granted 96 points in Jim Murray’s 2014 Whisky Bible. It’s unfathomably adjusted and perilously drinkable.
