Almaviva Red 2019 750ml
Deep, intense, and opaque ruby red. The nose reveals a generous, powerful, and layered bouquet of ripe cassis and blackberries, interwoven with hints of minerality and fine notes of vanilla, coffee, black pepper, and earth. Dense and full-bodied, the wine fills the mouth with round, ripe, and refined tannins, leaving an overall impression of balance and persistence. This well-structured wine of balanced acidity strikes a wonderful balance of elegance and power, with a very promising long aging potential, thanks to an extremely warm but superb vintage.
“This is such a beautifully nuanced red with tobacco, dried herbs, wet earth, and currants. some leather and rose petal, too. full-bodied and chewy, yet refined with great polish. It’s rich and intense at the same time. The center is very focused. broad layers of tannin and fruit. a blend of 72% cabernet sauvignon, 19% carmenere, 6% cabernet franc, and 3% petit verdot. “Better after 2024, but already a joy to taste.” JS98
