Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

For nearly 200 years, the distillery’s signature bourbon has been created using the same procedure. Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is crafted from a mash of yellow #2 dent corn, plump rye grains, and malted barley that has been cooked and cooled before being fermented for 3-5 days. Following fermentation, the bourbon is double-distilled in column stills before being matured in first-fill, American oak barrels (90% of the distillery’s oak is imported from the Ozark Mountains) that have been stored for six months in the distillery’s yard before being deeply charred.

After at least eight years in these barrels, which are stored on the middle floors of the distillery’s warehouses to allow for the greatest temperature fluctuations, no more than 40 barrels are hand-selected at a time to create a single, small batch of Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Tasting Notes

• Vanilla, mint, and molasses
• Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit, and anise.
