This limited-edition Miyagikyo single malt was introduced in 2021 as the first in the “Nikka Discovery” series. In anticipation of Nikka Whisky’s 90th anniversary, the series provides insight into the various experiments in the whisky-making process that Nikka has conducted over the years. Crafted solely from peated malt, this expression significantly distinguishes itself from Miyagikyo’s “light and fruity” image. It showcases an exquisite combination of bold, distinctly peaty notes, leaving a signature estery hint in the aftertaste.

The Yoichi limited edition was introduced in 2021 as the first of the “Nikka Discovery” series. In anticipation of Nikka Whisky’s 90th anniversary, the series offers an inside look at the various experiments in the whisky-making process that Nikka has practiced over the years.
This expression is comprised solely of unpeated malts, as opposed to Yoichi’s preconceived “peaty” image. It offers a delicate balance of bright fruitiness, a rich mouthfeel, and distinctive smokiness generated by coal-fired distillation.
