Benriach 1991 31 Year Old Berry Bros & Rudd
Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Exceptional Casks series will include Exceptional single malt in the spring of 2023. This Speyside Scotch whiskey was distilled at Benriach in 1991 and aged in a single hogshead for 31 years before being released in 2023 with an outturn of only 254 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Producer, Benriach, 1991 bottled 2023 Casks
Nose: Aromas of banana bread, musty attics, leather, and wax blend with fresher fruit notes to create an incredibly deep nose.
Palate: This theme continues on the palate, which displays a beautifully aged character with notes of spiced custard and cardamom fudge. Hints of praline build alongside dried apricot and something pleasingly musty.
Finish: Lingering spice and fruit show with an unexpected puff of wood smoke on the back palate. This is a marvelous example of aged Speyside whisky.
